Elderhaus has kept abreast of the expanding community need. The program began as a daytime care alternative and slowly evolved into a program that provides therapeutic services for adults over 18 with special needs. Elderhaus continues to specialize in providing care for clients suffering from various forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s, memory loss, Parkinson’s, and age-related disorders.

In 2008, keeping in line with the commitment to our clientele and our community, the Gaining Independence Group was established. This group is supervised and guided by specialists trained to address specific challenges, such as those associated with traumatic brain injury. The target population is clientele who have the potential to improve and be independent in society. We assist clients with local transportation training, potential volunteer opportunities, money management, resume writing and job skills, and learning ways of contributing to the welfare and productivity of their family units, most of whom are low income.
In June of 2009, the Veteran’s Benefit Advocate service was established. Working closely with the Larimer County Veteran’s Association, it is our goal to help the men and women who served our country to get connected to the services they require. The management of Elderhaus envisions this program expanding to focus on meeting the needs of disabled veterans returning from war to this community. Guidance will be provided for their physical, mental, emotional and social health concerns.
Elderhaus Adult Day Programs, Inc. is proud to host the Grand Opening for our newest division, Operation Salute, which is a program designed for veterans. One of the biggest issues facing veterans is social isolation. Future plans for this program include a Veteran’s Center to provide a relaxing, safe place for them to meet with one another, obtain updated information regarding veteran benefits, attend workshops, participate in the Veteran’s Network, and meet with veteran service organizations.
