Elderhaus Employees

Joanne Johnsen: Executive Director
Education: BS Accounting & Business
Everyone deserves to be a part of their community. Elderhaus gives me a chance to make this possible. Realizing everyone has a potential disability, Elderhaus structures its activities to reach all potentials, as diverse as they may be. Loving, compassionate, and professional staff make me proud to be a part of this agency.
Rose Luna: Assistant Director
Education: BA Sociology & Psychology, Masters in Gerontology
Working at Elderhaus allows me to follow the purpose God has ordained for my life. Everyone at Elderhaus—participants, volunteers and fellow employees—have wisdom to share that enhances my life. My daughter states: "You have the best job! All you have to do is go to work and love people!"
Ricki Shorkey: Activity Director
Education: BS Psychology, AA Drug & Alcohol Technology
Working at Elderhaus as the Activity Director gives me a chance to share the talents that the Lord has blessed me with, and a chance to meet a lot of wonderful people: young, old, and in between. I'm blessed in many ways.
Sheila Currier: Recreation Center Site Coordinator
I can't even begin to describe how blessed I feel to work here at Elderhaus. I don't know where else I could go to work where everyone loves you for who you are (including the participants). Our participants are wonderful and it's great to be able to go home and know you made a difference in someone's life.
Megan Walker: Volunteer Coordinator
Education: BS Psychology
It is wonderful to work for a place that you truly believe in. Coming to work every day becomes something to look forward to, rather than dread coming to. I have volunteered with adults who have special needs since I was eight years old. This job is very close to home for me, as volunteering has been such a large part of my life.
Sandra Vande Walle: Medicaid Benefits Helper
Elderhaus is a wonderful place to work and interact with participants and employees. Everyone has been very supportive and nurturing and it is very satisfying to help the underprivileged getting Medicaid support—makes me very grateful for the blessings I have in my life.
Clinton Ellerbe: Dietary Manager
Education: BS Church Music
I love to cook and God has blessed me in this area by allowing me to share my gifts with the folks at Elderhaus. It blesses me to know that I can fulfill a need of all of our participants by serving them a good nutritious meal.

I feel blessed to work at Elderhaus where I can help and give to others. We are a family here and this gives me a great feeling inside.

Allison Scott: Program Director

I started at Elderhaus as an intern and instantly fell in love with the participants and the programs we offer. It helped inspire me to further my education and become a registered nurse. It has been a wonderful experience working with the great variety of participants and staff of Elderhaus, and I have enjoyed watching the program grow.
Sally Walczyk: Program Director

I love working at Elderhaus because of all the wonderful people that it allows to be a part of my life.
